Freedom of Speech

I met Michael Krizanc in Elliot Lake , he seemed sincere and made it very clear that he was at The Hampton in because he was invited by the Elliot Lake council. Because we are a mining community the repository cannot be built where there may be minerals as that may impact resources for the next generation.
The Chapleau area was mentioned as a likely location but it was immediately stated that they had not invited the nwmo
and accordingly they are not a likely candidate.
"We want to foster a dialogue of respect, so people can feel safe in expressing their views," said NWMO communications manager Michael Krizanc, who said he has no opposition to differing views, as they are needed in the process...."This is going to attract the world's attention when it's underway," said Krizanc.

Billion Dollar Deal to Die For

A fuel bundle for a Candu nuclear power reactor is about the size of a fireplace log. As of June 30, 2011, Canada had 2,273,873 used fuel bundles stored at its nuclear plants in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. Another 85,000 or so have been added since then. In total, they’d fill about six NHL hockey rinks, stacked up as high as the boards
Some officials will tell you it is safe to have a Mall in Northern Ontario  with a parking lot built with cement slabs overhead and they have credebility because of engeneering reports, studies and inspections of  various kinds. What is missing is BASIC COMMON SENSE and the results are catastrophic.

The same BASIC COMMON SENSE should tell you that a NUCLEAR WASTE REPOSITORY can never never  be discribed as something that is safe and the results will be all the more Catstrophic

From The Uranium Capital Of The World

Nuclear waste is produced at every stage of the nuclear fuel cycle, from uranium mining and enrichment, to reactor operation and the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel. Much of this nuclear waste will remain hazardous for hundreds of thousands of years, leaving a poisonous legacy to future generations
The Elliot Lake Mall Collapsed because of negligence and now we have a Class Action Law Suite and  Criminal Investigation
The City of Elliot Lake Council invited
nwmo  (Nuclear Waste Mangement Organisation )
To determine wether it is a suitable location for a Nuclear Waste Repository which could represent billions of dollars and provide a diversified economy for the area .

uranium-238 (half-life of 4.47 billion years)

Ask the Japanese about Nuclear waste management
There is no way to combine the following terminology , with something that lethal ,and with something which  will outlast us all.
Safe responsible sustainability in relation to Radioactive waste are oxymorons. Looking at  Nuclear defense to ensure peace is as realistic as selling safe used candu reactor rods on ebay . Abandoning the use of nuclear power plants immediately would mitigate or loses , but that would not resolve the  problem that has been launched in seemingly perpetual motion .

The way I see and predict it

For over half a century Uranium and Radioactivity has been major part of our development.
I was introduced to Uranium in 1955 when I first came to Elliot Lake.
With the Atom Bomb the world was introduced to the true object  and weapon of mass destruction.
Nuclear energy has similar qualities to the chameleon. It can be used for defense and it can be used to supply us with services that meet our  needs
What remains is the dilema , to dispense of a substance which is made to last indefinitely .
Used nuclear fuel rods must be stored and everyones concern is  the terms safety and security and rightly so.
The engineers and architects which built the mall which collapsed on our heads are from the same generation , the one  which is contemplating building a nuclear repository which will have to last for thousands of years and that is scary.
Just a slight indication that something is brewing off - kilter :
2 ,500 aboriginals were hired for the preliminaries and aboriginal traditional knowledge is essential to a complete study.
This may be intepreted in a variety of ways but as I SEE IT
The reactors are all in and supplying heavily populated areas , and when the time comes ,Canadians will not have a choice as to where millions of used candu fuel rods will be stored , this is not an optional issue , it is life or death issue for  the country , and I think the aboriginals are sittng on the best piece of real estate , What will be traded this time maybe in the works , but either way the Nuclear Waste Management will take the actions which they deem to be best for all of Canada . The enriched uranium project will not be for the purpose of enriching any particular area with the input of  billions of dollars , the project will be solely for the purpose of survival , Survival of Canada and all its people.
nwmo came to Elliot Lake today as they were invited by the Elliot Lake council, I just wish more residents would have been aware of this . Groups of school children were present and had a great tour at the Hampton Inn , hopefully they will convey the events of the day  to their parents and grandparents as their future is at stake. http://elliotlakenews.blogspot.com

Nuclear Waste Management

The nwmo was invited to Elliot Lake By the City Of Elliot Lake council.
Seniors should be aware that when they vote in representatives they can inherit more than what they bargained for !

admin @ NWMO
Thank you for your visit to Elliot Lake,
It is appreciated that you are an invited guest of the administration of The City Of Elliot Lake.
As a senior citizen , I must relate to you , that your operation is not
supported by or compatible to the lifestyle of the present population.
The economic base is mainly   "Senior Citizens and Retirement Living "
This was funded by the mining companies to be administered by the city.
People that have been attracted here to retire , came here because it was a small town , a jewel in the wilderness , not to participate in a new diversified economy.
The Elliot Lake Council is being scrutenized for placing peoples lives in arms way with the Elliot Lake Mall collapse.
The Elliot Lake Council is being reprimanded by the Ombudsman
for holding meetings which exclude the public.
The Elliot Lake Council have much to do in camera.
that does not represent the views of the electorate , "The Residents of Elliot Lake".
Elliot Lake is rich in minerals and is not a location for Nuclear
Waste.. Why you have been invited here is likely because of the dollar signs   "Billions of Dollars "
I would rather have you here to come fishing. We are only eleven thousand people ,take the funds down south where they will be better distributed amongst  millions
